Abstract:

The present argument in favour of expressivism is controversial. One objection, which figures prominently in the litterature, is that internalism as commonly stated is refuted by the possibility of amoralism. While Blackburn accepts thos objection, he thinks that a weaker form of internalism is defensible and supportive of expressivism. I think that Blackburn's weak form of internalism is insuffiecient to support expressivism, that he has not adequately defended this weaker form of internalism, and that in any case it is implausible. However, I also believe that this does not force us to reject what I take to be the core of Blackburn's account of moralizing: projectivism.
